The Robot

Our robot evolved throughout the month of January before finally being reduced to its final, simple form. It's main feature was a large base that remained stationary while a platform turned above based upon our starting orientation. It was powered with two motors, and used a break beam sensor to ensure nice turns. On the platform we originally had two robots, set to go different ways. The top robot was actually constructed to drive off of the bottom one, and then pull away the ramp it was sitting on so
the second could drive off and back on with out any problems. Together it appeared as an imposing 11" x 11" cube. This idea proved too complicated however to wire in the time we were given, so we reduced our goal to one, simple robot. This was the bottom robot stripped of its ability to actually grab the balls or use its distance finder, reduced to something that could push a ball around.
