About the Name 1080 to 1
We thought for a while before coming up with the name 1080 to 1. The name was not our foremost concern, so we spent little time on it until the last week. So, what is "1080 to 1"?

1080 to 1 are the odds Vegas is giving on us, two lowly frosh, winning 6.270. Yes, of course they bet on 6.270. You know them Nevada people.

1080 to 1 also happens to be the gear ratio on the motors that deploy our main arm. For a long time during the development process, the name fit even better--it was also the gear ratio for our other two gear trains. However, to get more speed we reduced the arm gear ratio to a mere 360:1, and to support the massive weight of the arm we increased the base gear ratio to 1800:1.
